South Australian Outback born & raised, Leonie and her husband have managed a grazing property in the Stonehenge area since 1983. She is a teacher by trade, and has always been heavily involved in community organisations. In 2007, she was elected chair of the Cooper’s Creek Catchment Committee (a position she held for 3 years), and became a board member of Desert Channels Queensland. Leonie also sits on the Lake Eyre Basin Community Advisory Committee. Her passion for, and interest in, the grazing industry extends across the region.
