Desert Channels Queensland plays a vital role in ensuring a future for our region through partnership projects and activities.
|

| We oversee the investment of State and Federal funds in sustainable natural resource management and coordinate other NRM activities that contribute to economic, ecological and social sustainability.
These projects and activities are investments by the community and governments in the future of our region. Up until September 2004, the majority of these investments have been in getting DCQ up and running as a viable regional body that can deliver for the region. Our focus now is about action; getting things done on the ground. We're now funding projects like controlling weeds, fencing off sensative habitat and installing watering points, and training people in property management planning. All these investments are guided by our regional investment strategy, Powering our Actions, and our community-based natural resource management plan, Protecting our Assets. Through our plan, the community of the Desert Channels region has set goals that we, the community and government in partnership, are working towards. Listed below are our projects and initiatives. |
